Bodhana's Honey Stall at Punarikya Nagar, Thirumoolapuram. (85th anniversary of the reunion of the Syro Malankara Catholic Church held at Mar Ivanios Nagar, Thirumoolapuram, Thiruvalla on 19-21 September 2015)
‘Honey Festival – 2015’, Organised by the Federation of Indigenous Apiculturists (FIA), the festival has stalls put up by apiculturists from across the State displaying varieties of honey, honey products and honey production equipments. The Four-day festival (September 9-12), which got under way at VJT Hall, provided the people of the city a rare opportunity to learn about the subtle differences between different honey varieties, their medicinal properties, and buy various honey products. The Bee keeping section of Bodhana (Tiruvalla Social Service Society), the Archdiocesan Social Work Dept of Tiruvalla Malankara Catholic Archdiocese also participated for the event. Bodhana could showcase the honey products of Bodhana like Raw honey, Agmark honey, value added products of honey such as honey dates, honey garlic, honey amla, honey grapes, honey ginger, honey jack fruit, honey cherry, Cardamom honey etc Thousands of people visited the exhibition and thus through this event Bodhana could pass on to many the information on Bodhana and its programmes.
Jalanidhi Mega project at Kadaplamattom Gramapanchayath was jointly commissioned by Hon.Minister for Finance, Law and Housing Sri. K.M.Mani and Hon. Minister For Water Resources Sri.P.J.Joseph on 22nd August 2015. The declaration was held at Panchayath Community Hall, Kadaplamattom. Sri. Mons Joseph MLA , Fr.Thomas Payyampallil,Executive Director-Bodhana, Dr.Sabu Varghese, Regional Director-Jalanidhi , Authorities of Zilla-block-Grama Panchayaths and mass public were attended.
Bodhana is the consultant of Financial Literacy Centre run by Federal Aswas Trust in collaboration with Federal Bank, which is controlled by Reserve Bank of India. The FLCC in Ranni Block Panchayath is functioning in Bodhana Regional Training Centre building at Chethomkara, Ranni. Through this centre all the segments of the society got financial literacy in one from other. The centre enables the common man to plan ahead of their life cycle needs and deals with unexpected emergencies without resorting any debt. It enables the common man to understand the need and benefits of the products and services of banks and inculcate savings habit and improve the effective use of services offered by banks.

A one-day training programme on mushroom cultivation conducted by Bodhana on 31st August 2015 at Bodhana Central office Campus. 10 Members were oriented to the theory and practical session of Mushroom Cultivation. Fr. Thomas Payyampallil (Executive Director, Bodhana) inaugurated the training. The programme was co-ordinated by Mrs.Sheeba Antony.
Bodhana celebrated Onam on August 26th 2015. Onam Sadhya, games and athapookkalam competition were done as part of the celebration. More than 50 members including the staff members were in the celebration. Bodhana, Executive Director, Fr. Thomas Payyampallil Inaugurated the programme. The Bee Research and Training Department of Bodhana has conducted Training on Apiculture on 24th & 25th August 2015. Rev. Fr. Thomas Payyampallil inaugurated the programme. Various topics related to Apiculture such as the types of Bees, Artificial breeding of the Queen, Collection of pollen, Feeding the bees during days with manual availability of food, Artificial production of Beehive, processing of Honey, Production of Honey value added products, Replacing old queen and Protection of Bee hives during raining season were explained by the Co-ordinator Mr.Sijo Thomas.
Bodhana is initiating programmes for the integral development of less privileged of the society and thus has been a partner of Save A Family Plan (SAFP) since it’s inception in 1972, it has been in the forefront of social transformation of the less privileged. SAFP is a Canadian-based international non-governmental organization (NGO) founded in 1965 by Monsignor Augustine Kandathil and celebrating its Golden Jubilee in this year. As part of Jubilee celebration of SAFP, Bodhana organized a family gathering of our Regular Beneficiaries on 22nd August 2015 at Bodhana, Tiruvalla in collaboration with SAFP. H.G.Dr.Thomas Mar Koorilos (Metropolitan Archbishop of Tiruvalla Archdiocese) inaugurated the programme. Fr.Thomas Payyampallil (Executive Director of Bodhana) presides over the meeting. Mr.Joel John Mathew (Programme Co-ordinator, FDP) gave warm welcome to all in the meeting. Mrs. Beena Joy (Regional Programme Officer, SAFP) had given the keynote address and Sr.Saumya SIC (Staff coordinator, Bodhana) felicitated for the function. Bodhana, social service arm of the Thiruvalla Archdiocese of Malankara Catholic Church, has proposed a people-friendly waste disposal scheme for Thiruvalla municipality and adjoining grama panchayats. The proposal submitted to the municipal chairman, Cherian Polachirackal, stressed the need to make the local people adequately aware of the importance of disposing the waste generated in their own locality in a proper way.
