We care, help, collaborate, consult and train the much needed people in the community for a Better Life.

Bodhana is the social service and developmental department of the archdiocese of Tiruvalla. It is a charitable organization, started in the year 1950 and it was registered under Travancore-Cochin Literary, Scientific and Charitable Society’s Act in 1972. Bodhana has been in the forefront of the society to address the issues of poor and marginalized.

The relentless strive for social intervention with gospel values and professional excellence has helped Bodhana to achieve a remarkable position in the development and empowerment of the marginalized. In this process, the gospel values of charity and preferential option for the

poor always function as the driving force behind all our initiatives. The operational area of Bodhana covers four revenue districts of Kerala, viz. Pathanamthitta, Kottayam, Alapuzha and Idukki. Through different projects and sponsorship programmes we are helping more than 20,000 families.

Formation and Strengthening

To facilitate formation and strengthening of community-based organizations.

Learning & Sharing

To facilitate collective learning and sharing of resources, information and technology for development

Income Generation Programs

To promote income generation activities among women and other weaker sections of the society and also provide micro financing to CBOS

Natural Resource Management

To promote sustainable management and use of natural resources.

Disaster Management

To facilitate the people affected by natural calamities and other man-made calamities.

Participation of Women

To facilitate participation of women and other weaker sections of the society in the development process.

Collaboration

To facilitate collaboration with local self-government and other development factors.

Infrastructure Development

To support the target of poor people for basic infrastructure development through housing, sanitation, drinking water etc.

Rehabilitation

To rehabilitate physically and mentally challenged people, especially the children.

Trainings and awareness campaigns in income generation and other disaster management situations is one of the prime areas of Bodhana. We have been in the forefront of the society for the past 5 decades in our operational area in giving awareness and trainings to the public. Through different projects and programmes we have helped millions of families to lead a sustainable and dignified life in the society.

Empowering the unprivileged and underprivileged is one of the main areas of our mission. We have been trying to act as a catalyst in the society through empowerment and strengthening the weak.

In the past 5 decades of the journey of our service, we have been the supporting hands to lakhs and lakhs of people directly and indirectly. We work for the integral development of the society. We support in all realms of the society from top to bottom.
