Mock-drill in association with District Disaster Management Authority

Bodhana took a special initiative to conduct a mock drill at Peringara Panchayat in association with DDMA, Revenue, Police, Fire force and Health departments. Emergency Kit Distribution

Bodhana distributed the emergency kit to the flood victims in association with Reliance Foundation. The beneficiaries were selected from Niranom, Peringara, Nedumprom and Kuttoor Panchayats of Pathanamthitta District

Oppam – Flood Relief & Rehabilitation Project

Oppam is the special relief and rehabilitation Project initiated by the Archdiocese of Thiruvalla in the aftermath of flood and other natural calamities . The main activities under relief project were Relief Camp Management, Food Kit Distribution, Sanitation Activities like House Cleaning & Well chlorination, counselling, Medical camps etc. Under rehabilitation project the main activities were house construction, house maintenance, Toilet construction, Livelihood and Income Generation Programme etc.

Bodhana Covid Home Care Programme

Bodhana in association with Pushpagiri Medical College, started free home care programme for the covid patients. A team of doctors and Social workers visited the covid affected families and give free treatment and psychological support .

Covid Relief Activities Supported by Archdiocese of Toronto

Covid special relief activities supported by Archdiocese of Toronto is inaugurated at Bodhana, Thiruvalla, by the kerala state best teacher award winner and the HM of ST. Thomas HSS Eruvellipra, Shri. Shaji Mathew Kooliyattu. Through this project 10 lakhs of Rupees will be spend on various covid relief activities.

Special Covid Relief Support to Fishermen

Bodhana provided the Nutritional and hygiene kit to covid affected fishermen at Anjuthengu and Mamballi areas. The programme was flag off by the Tiruvalla Municipal Chairman Shri. R. Jayakumar. Executive Director Fr. Samuel Vilayil said that it is a token of love for their gesture of saving many lives during the super flood of 2018.

Emergency Flood Relief Support to Nilambur and Wayanad

Tiruvalla Social Service Society Bodhana provided emergency flood relief support to Nilambur and Wayand through Bathery Social Service society (Shreyas) for the most neediest people in the community.

OPPAM -Food kits Distribution - High Range.

Bodhana took a special initiative to provide a nutritional food kit to all the families of Kattappana and Kumily Region during the Onam season of 2020 in the month of August.

Athijeevan Flood Rehabilitation Project

Athijeevan is a flood rehabilitation project supported by Caritas India. The main activities under this project are House Maintenance, Toilet Construction, Income Generation Programme, Water and Sanitation etc. The Athijeevan Programme was inaugurated by the then Municipal Chairman Shri. Cherian Polachirackal and the Benedictory Address was given by the patron of Tiruvalla Social Service Society H.G. Dr. Thomas Mar Koorilos. Through this programme, we are aiming at restoring the dignified life of flood affected people in the highly vulnerable areas of the Archdiocese of Tiruvalla.

Caritas Emergency Support -NFI Kit

In the aftermonth of flood and many other natural calamities Caritas India in association with Bodhana, provided the emergency kit of kitchen utensils to the highly affected flood victims in our operational area.

Flood Relief Support by Cardinal Cleemis Catholices

The super flood of 2018 highly affected all the areas of the Archdiocese of Thiruvalla. Through this special project, we could help many flood victims in their House Maintenance, Toilet Construction, Water and Sanitation, Income Generation Programme etc.

Ashakiranam Cancer Care Project.

  Ashakiranam is a comprehensive project for prevention and care of cancer patients envisaged by Caritas India. Modern life style and unhealthy eating habits causes many health diseases. Bodhana provides monthly Medical Assistance and awareness to the cancer patients in our operational area. 

Emergency Medical Assistance Training

Medical Assistance training programme were conducted by Bodhana for reducing the risk of disasters at various areas. The training was conducted under the leadership of the emergency department of Pushpagiri Medical College.

Green Protocol Campaign

Bodhana in association with KSSF inaugurated the Green Protocol Campaign. The programme was inaugurated by Dr. Thomas Mar Koorilos and the two day seminar was headed by Dr. R Haridas from Caritas India.

Medicare- Monthly Medical Assistance Programme

Medicare is a Medical assistance project to the down trodden, We are providing a monthly medical assistance and free medical consultation to the chronic illness and bedridden patients in our operational area, irrespective of caste and creed. The goal of this project is to witness the caring Jesus by extending the blessing of God to the most afflicted. The monthly support is given to the patient’s family by the 1st working day of each month. 

Navajeevan Disaster Risk Reduction Programme

Navajeevan is a Disaster Risk Reduction Programme supported by Caritas India.  Through this programme we are aiming at building resilient communities.

Distribution of Medical Kits and Oxygen Concentrator

Bodhana in association with Caritas Germany distributed Medical kit and Oxygen Concentrator to the covid victims. In that programme special appreciation and memento was given to the volunteers of  Covid Home Care Programme and Covid Samaritans.

Edu - Dreams Career Orientation Programme and Financial Aid

Bodhana inaugurated a special career orientation seminar-Edu Dreams for the selected 300 students in our operational area. The programme was inaugurated by Honourable MLA Sri. Mathew T. Thomas.  Rs. 23 lakhs is given to the students for their educational purpose. 

 

Integrated Child Development Programme

Through the Integrated Child Development programme, Bodhana supports 320 students every year. Through this programme, we aim at the integral growth of students. The main activities are career orientation, fund distribution, Value orientation programs etc.

 

Bee Keeping Training

Bodhana has a honey research and training centre at the central office campus for training and production of honey and other value added honey products. The thrust of the programme is to increases the number of Bee farmers. The training programmes empowered the local farmers to start the Bee Keeping and Honey production.

Family Development Programme

Through different family development Programs, Bodhana helps poor families to upgrade the standard of living and to attain a sustainable way of life. We envisage various income generation programme and financial literacy programme under this project.

Goat Rearing Income Generation Programme

Goat rearing income generation programme is a special programme initiated in the aftermonth of flood and other natural calamities of 2018. This programme was supported by TASSOS (Tamil Nadu Social Service Forum)

Mushroom Cultivation

Bodhana undertakes a wide number of agricultural activities giving importance to the care and protection of the nature.. We give monthly training and distribution of Mushroom seeds and other equipments.

Poultry Farming Income Generation Programme-KSSF

After the flood of 2018, Kerala Social Service Forum, supported Bodhana, Thiruvalla Social Service Society, in distributing hitech poultry cages with chickens to the poor flood affected people in our operational area, H.G Dr. Thomas Mar Kurilos inaugurated the IGP programme.

Poultry Farming Project Supported by Mar Severious College Chenganoor

As part of the social commitment, Mar Severious College, staff and students helped the flood affected people of pattanamthitta district. A hitech poultry cage along with 20 chickens is given to flood affected families for their income generation.

Swiss Re – Housing Project

In association with Swiss Re, Bodhana took the initiative to build many new houses in the flood affected areas of the Archdiocese of Thiruvalla. At zero cost, new houses of 550 sq.ft. Is handed over to the beneficiaries.

Kallooppara Housing Project

Archdiocese at Thiruvalla in association with Bodhana and many other well wishers handed over 5 cents of land and 600 sq.ft house to 8 selected beneficiaries at Kattappana.

House Maintenance Programmes

Bodhana has given Rs. 50,000 to more than 150 families for the house repair and maintenance after the super flood of 2018. Many organizations like KSSF, Caritas India, Caritas Germany, cardinal Cleemis, Kolping Family, Archdiocese of Toronto and many generous individuals has joined their hands in this noble cause.

Break The Chain Campaign

Bodhana conducted Break the chain campaign at different places of Tiruvalla Municipality in association with Pushpagiri Hospital and Motor Vehicle Department. In that programme Dr. Mercy Rachel from Pushpagiri Hospital gave the awareness class and Executive  Director Fr. Samuel Vilayil distributed the safety kits.

Covid Awarenss - Vehicle Campaign

Bodhana in association with caritas india, conducted a vehicle campaign in peringara  grama panchayath. The ultimate aim of the campaign is to create  awareness regarding the novel coronavirus and its impacts. The programme was flag off by Thiruvalla Assistant Motor Vehicle inspector Shri. Anoop. Rev Fr samuel vilayil, the executive director of bodhana delivered the introductory speech.  Perngara GP president Smt. Minimol  Joseph, Bodhana project officer Mr. Manulal John, Programme coordinator Mr Siji Mathew attended the programme. 

 

Covid Awareness Campaign & Support– Rs. 10 lakhs

In the second wave of Covid, Bodhana arranged many medical camps and awareness programs of different areas of our operational area. We have given Rs. 10 lakhs, to the selected Covid victims in our operational area.

 

Covid Samaritans

During The Covid season, Archdiocese of Thiruvalla formed a group of volunteers called Covid Samaritans. They were the frontline social workers in our operational area who were ready for any voluntary services like covid funerals, home care and many other services. The training for the volunteers was given by the expert team of doctors in Pushpagiri Medical College.

 

Special support to SARATHI AUTO DRIVERS Union with the support of Tiruvalla Municipality

Bodhana distributed Nutritional food kits to the SARATHI Auto drivers union in Tiruvalla Municipality. Municipality Chairman Shri. R. Jayakumar inaugurated the programme. Assistant Motor Inspector Shri Saju P Chandran gave the awareness class.

 

 

Road Safety Awareness Programme

Bodhana in association with Motor vehicle department conducts various programmes to provide basic awareness about traffic rules, defensive driving according to weather and road conditions etc. Bodhana also conducts many social awareness programes associates with Kerala Motor Vehicle Department.  

 

 

 

Special School Programme

Bodhana in association with Childline Pathanmthitta conducted awareness class and drawing competition at Kadamankulam St. Gregorious Special School. Childline Co-ordinator Mr. David Reji Inaugurated the programme. Rev. Fr. Samuel Vilayil gave the Presidential Address and Mr. Manulal John gave this awareness class.

 

 

 

Urjakiran Energy Conservation Programme

Urjakiran is a energy conservation programme supported by Govt. of Kerala. Energy saving campaign is arranged as part of this programme to safe guard the environment and to save the energy.

 

 

 

Cancer Day Programme

Bodhana in association with various MSW Colleges and other Social Departments conducted Cancer Awareness Programmes at different school of Pathanamthitta District.

 

 

 

 

Water Day Programme

Bodhana celebrated the World Water Day at Thalavady Panchayat of Alappuzha District. An awareness meeting was conducted by the Natural Resource Department to imprint them the message “water for all,” .With the help of local volunteers Bodhana restored a bog pond which was the one and only water source of  more than 25 families.

 

 

 

 

 

Women’s Day Programme

International Women’s day was celebrated at Bodhana in association with Kerala Social Service Forum. The mainstreme social worker Dr. M.S. Sunil inaugurated the function.Various income generation help were given to various women headed families to empower them.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Bodhana Water Filter

Acute shortage of drinking water could be considered as one of the causes for which the world may resort to another war. Despite having an abundance of water in Kerala, the problems associated with the availability of adequate quantity of good quality drinking water is terrifyingly increasing. Different models of filter with varying storage capacities have been developed by Bodhana. Those are cylinder filter, motor filter, Home Stead filter, Chamber filter, Immersing filter & Sanitary filters.

Jalanidhi Water Projects

Bodhana has been working with supporting agency at Jalanidhi since 2012. The ultimate aims of the project is to assure safe drinking water to the people. Drinking water and sanitation projects supported by Kerala Rural Water Supply is linked with health and sanitation programmes of the society.

Rain Water Harvesting (RWH)

Rain Water Harvesting is the process of collecting rain water, filtering it and  storing it for multiple uses. The importance at Rain Water Harvesting is the fact that, it can be stored  for future use.

Waste Management programme

Bodhana initiates many low cost waste disposal techniques. The waste not only pollutes the environment but also triggers the spread at different communicable diseases.

Bodhana Annual General Body Meeting

Annual General Body is a review and preview meeting which aims at the evaluation and planning of the society.  The Board members give their valuable suggestion and dreams about the future of the society in this meeting. The audited financial report  and activity report of the previous year will be presented and passed in the AGB meeting.

Annual Report Publishing

The Patron of T.S.S.S H.G Dr. Thomas Mar Koorilos released the Annual report and handed over the first copy to KSSF director Rev. Fr. Jacob Mavunkal.

Bodhisree Marketing Network

Bodhisree Development Society is a venture at Bodhana for the sustainable development and programs at farmers through training in bee keeping, processing at Honey, processing and value addition at Honey products and marketing through Bodhisree Honey outlets. It’s extends a supporting hand to farmers to engage in new entrepreneurial initiatives through a simple and scientific approach to honey production

Childline- Safe Childhood

Childline is a 24 hour emergency outreach services for children in crisis, which links them to emergency and long term care and rehabilitation services. This project is supported by Ministry of Women and Child Development, Government of India. Run for the safe childhood programme was inaugurated by the Pathanamthitta District Collector Sri. P. B. Nooh.

Childline – Organization Meeting

Childline pathanamthitta organized a resource organization meeting for all Child Care Institutions in the district. Honorable CWC Chairman Adv. Saji Nath, CNC members Mr. KP Muraleedharan Pillai, Mrs. MS meena Kumari, DCPO Mrs. Neetha Das, Director Fr. Samuel Vilayil, Coordinator Athira Sukumaran and Childline Pattanamthitta team members were participated.

 

Golden Jubilee Inauguration

In 2021, Bodhana completes 5 decades of the journey of service. The Golden Jubilee year was inaugurated by Honourable M.P Sri. Anto Antony. 5 new houses were handed over to the poor in that function.

 

 

Bio Laboratory

Bodhana runs a Bio Laboratory in the main campus.  The main services are  water testing, soil testing, Honey testing, Spawn Production and Mushroom Cultivation. Production of Organic Manure, Culture of Mushroom Spawns etc. are some of the other activities carried out in this laboratory.
